The international jewelry capital shines with awards, exhibitions, and new trends.
Milan, September 17, 2024 – Supported by Assogemme and CNA, Milano Jewelry Week will attract a vast international audience of jewelry enthusiasts and industry experts to the city, eager to discover the latest innovations in both Italian and international jewelry design.
The event, which aims to highlight and present the various facets of the jewelry sector, is built on partnerships with prestigious organizations. These collaborations will create strong synergies and professional opportunities for the over 500 participants from more than 60 countries, further confirming Milan as the ideal stage for international excellence to share their stories of tradition and innovation.
Key partnerships with AOL (Associazione Orafa Lombarda), ACJ (Association for Contemporary Jewellery), HRD Antwerp, A.N.T.I.C.O (Associazione Nazionale Tutela il Comparto Oro), Assamblage, and Scuola Orafa Galdus have been reconfirmed, alongside two new prominent international partners: Piazza Italia and INHORGENTA.
Through its collaboration with Piazza Italia, Milano Jewelry Week will offer artists and brands the opportunity to reach a broader international audience. Piazza Italia will present a special prize to a selected artist or brand, helping them expand their audience and enhance global brand awareness.
This year also introduces a special prize from INHORGENTA, awarded to participants in the Talent Show, an exhibition hosted at the Scuola Galdus. The exhibition, organized in collaboration with Rossana Ricolfi, Coordinator, and Technical Lecturer at Scuola Orafa Galdus, and Andreia Gabriela Popescu, Senior Lecturer at Assamblage School and award-winning contemporary jewelry artist, will showcase the works of emerging talents from international schools and academies.
A panel of esteemed international academic figures will evaluate the showcased jewelry, awarding the most deserving students with the Best Talent Award during the MJW Awarding Night. In addition, the Best Talent by INHORGENTA prize will allow the winner to exhibit their work at INHORGENTA MUNICH from February 21-24, 2025, in a new section dedicated specifically to young talents.
In addition to the Talent Show, two other group exhibitions will take place from October 17-20: The Jewelry HUB, held for the third consecutive year at the stunning La Pelota location, and Artistar Jewels, a contemporary jewelry project celebrating its 10th anniversary. Hosted at the prestigious Palazzo Bovara, Artistar Jewels has become an international reference point for artistic and contemporary jewelry designers, with over 230 artists enriching the exhibition with their unique creations. Visitors will also have the chance to admire the extraordinary pieces from special guests Angry Jewellery and Chong Ho, along with a curated selection of brands presented by Harper’s Bazaar.
Throughout the week, attendees will experience numerous Experiential Journeys in various locations across downtown Milan, where brands, goldsmiths, designers, and jewelry manufacturers will host visitors, offering themed exhibitions, collection previews, live performances, press meetings, cocktail parties, and workshops.
Completing the program are talks, panel discussions, and roundtables focused on the latest and most relevant topics in goldsmithing and jewelry design. These will be held at La Pelota and the Galdus School.
