PlatAfrica 2025

New Horizon

In dawning glow, where dreams take flight, designs emerge from the first of light. New forms, new fashions, new meanings — the future of jewellery, new beginnings. Horizon’s promise shines far and bright, a canvas of future in platinum white. Through artistry’s lens, we boldly go, crafting value for a better world.

The term “horizon” symbolizes looking towards the future. Designers might explore emerging trends, materials, or technologies that could shape the future of jewellery. “New” implies fresh, original, or unique ideas. New Horizon encourages participants to push boundaries and think beyond traditional norms. It invites designers to envision what is possible beyond current limitations in craftsmanship and aesthetics.

A focus on sustainability and ethical sourcing may also align with this theme, encouraging designs that reflect awareness of global issues while projecting a hopeful vision for the future. New Horizon symbolizes new beginnings and opportunities. Designs could incorporate elements that represent growth, innovation, exploration, or transformation.

PlatAfrica 2025 – New Horizon is looking for design creativity that looks ahead while considering broader implications in society and culture within the field of jewellery design.

The
expressive
power of
white

Platinum is the perfect canvas. As a precious metal, it is naturally white and highly durable, making the material itself the protagonist. Its authenticity offers consumers the transparency they increasingly seek.

The purity of white acts as a blank canvas for striking expression. Intricate details and textures enhance both classic and fluid shapes, allowing platinum to speak for itself through design.

This versatile material is appropriate for all occasions, meeting the complex and varied needs of today’s consumer. It aligns with the growing focus on owning fewer, high-quality products that last a lifetime.

Striking shapes, surfaces, and textures emphasize the inherent quality of the material, giving it a timeless and expressive power.
