Jewellers’ Network Supports the 2025 Platinum Incubator PGMs Advocacy Camp

On Friday, 10 October 2025, the Platinum Incubator (TPI) hosted its impactful Platinum Group Metals (PGMs) Advocacy Camp at Orbit TVET College in Rustenburg. The event brought together students, graduates, small business owners, and leading industry partners to explore the power and potential of platinum group metals in jewellery design, manufacturing, and industrial innovation.

The Platinum Incubator — the world’s only platinum-focused business incubator — continues to play a vital role in South Africa’s beneficiation strategy by supporting emerging jewellers, artisans, and entrepreneurs through incubation, training, and enterprise development.

Jewellers’ Network: Proud Sponsor and Industry Supporter

As one of the official sponsorsJewellers’ Network was proud to contribute to the success of the day by providing complimentary snacks, sandwiches, drinks, magazines, and subscription gifts to all attendees. Our participation reflected our ongoing commitment to nurturing the growth and connectedness of the South African jewellery community.

Our own Danica from Jewellers’ Network delivered a presentation highlighting the power of collaboration, visibility, and professional networking in building sustainable jewellery businesses. Her talk encouraged young designers to embrace marketing, technology, and creative partnerships as key drivers of business success.

A Collaboration of Industry and Education

The day’s programme featured engaging presentations and workshops from key partners including SADPMR (South African Diamond and Precious Metals Regulator)MINTEK, and the University of Johannesburg, as well as local municipal representatives. Attendees were exposed to insights on skills development, funding, beneficiation, and industrial applications of platinum group metals.

Participants also took part in a hands-on jewellery-making session, and the event concluded with a Certification and Awarding Ceremony, recognizing outstanding engagement and participation.

Adding a touch of prestige to the occasion, it was also noted that Platinum Incubator members crafted the stunning crowns for the winners of the Miss Rustenburg pageant, a true testament to the artistry and skill emerging from this unique incubator.
